This is a great little meter; solid and well-made. I use it for measuring EMF around the house. The reason I don't give it 5 stars is that it doesn't come with any information about how to use it - I have used an EMF meter before so I know what kind of fields to expect, the need to rotate the meter sometimes to catch the fields, and etc. But if I didn't already know this, it would be a problem. The meter also has an ELF setting and I don't know anything about that. Customer Review: super easy, quite accurate and... fun!

I ordered this very simple but reliable meter because I was worried about possible EM radiation at work (office window across from a wireless network antenna hidden in the adjacent corner building). From the first minute I got the Extech EMF meter out of the box I was using it continuously, learning what appliances and hidden objects are giving the most radiation. I even carry it on my bus commute to "map" EM radiation levels around town. It is fascinating to find the variations and be aware where levels are very high (buried electric cables and medical/police buildings). I am learning a lot about the "invisible" environment and it is certainly a conversation starter! (The office by the way turned out to be quite low in EM radiation, to my great relief:-)Customer Review: Good meter, lousy company.

I like the meter, it found several hotspots in our house almost immediately. For that I consider it a priceless addition to the home to keep EMF levels under control. In addition, this meter prompted relocation of the kids beds away from a medium level EMF source (power meter on outside wall).
3 emails to the company for tech support remain unanswered, so don't count on any responses or support from this company. For that I am deducting 1 full star. When will these companies learn that they need to actually respond to their customer emails if they want continued business?

The meter is a bit plain looking but does an excellent job. It is compact and works very well. Amazon beat everyones price. I paid just under $90.00. Some sites charge $149.00.
